None Of Your Business!

None Of Your Business!

Peter turned and saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following them... When Peter saw him, he said to Jesus, “Lord, what about this man?” Jesus said to him, “If it is My will that he remain until I come, what is that to you? You follow Me!” - John 20:20a-22

Jesus, after resurrection from the death, appeared the third time to His disciples. He told Peter to follow Him.

As usual, Peter's eyes were not fixed on Jesus (i.e. the boat and the storm). He turned and saw John following behind them. Instead of focusing on Jesus, he began to wonder about what John was doing.

This is still the same in today's context. As we follow Jesus, our eyes wander and sometimes turn to look at what other believers are doing. We are either critical OR competitive towards them. Sometimes, we are even jealous. These are ALL rooted in the nature of insecurity.

But Jesus told Peter, "It's NONE of your business! You just follow Me."

In the same way, what others are doing is NONE of our business! Every single one of us has our own God-given assignment. Our responsibility is simply to follow Him and go after our unique assignment.

Don't be a copycat in the Kingdom. Don't be an echo. Be WHO you were created to be. When you try to do what others are doing, you will get more and more competitive; you will STRIVE within and have no rest; you will burn out eventually.

But if you do what you are supposed to be doing, created in Christ for God-given good works, you will REST within. And you will have longevity.

Don't try to keep up with an image that is not yours. Even in the social media regardless of your likes and no. of followers. That will be audacity and not authenticity. BE WHO YOU WERE CREATED TO BE!

No. 1 Fear

The fear of public speaking is known as the most common fear in the world. Research revealed that it is ranked as the No. 1 fear, above the fear of death.

This is the reason why we got J to crush this kind of fear as soon as possible before he learns the fear of public speaking from schools/workplace.

The privilege of homeschooling is that we can have a closer view of the child's growing up years so that we can reduce the exposure and eliminate the sources of fear.

As we congratulated him last night for the completion of a 1-year course, he said, "I don't have any fear of public speaking."

It is our role as parents to help our child crush every fear along the way. The only fear must be the fear of God.

Fear is not inborn. Fear is always learnt. It is learnt from upbringing, modeling the parents' own fears, picking up from the environment/friends and circumstances.

Faith is inborn. But faith must overcome fear. Since faith works through Love and Love casts out fear, each time we demonstrate love to the child in the particular area he has fear in, we crush that fear.
