The guy indeed came again. We preached the Gospel to him. His eyes became a little watery. No sinner's prayer was done because it is not biblical. Neither is it the yardstick to measure anyone's salvation. It is a pure religious method that is not indicative of true conversion.
Being born again must be the work of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit comes to "convict (John 16:8-9) the world of sin... because they do not believe in Me."
I shared with J that preaching the Gospel is our work. Conviction resulting in true salvation is the work of the Spirit. We cannot lead anyone to salvation by praying the sinner's prayer.
I told my son that I was guilty of leading countless people to pray the sinner's prayer throughout many years of street outreaches. But now my eyes have seen the truth.
We trust that the security guy is on his way to the Father. He left with watery eyes, filled with gratitude. He didn't request for another reading, because he understood that he could commune with Him directly and didn't need another middleman.
There were multiple testimonies but these are not as important as having your own journey with the One who lives in you and yearns to connect with you.
We preached the Gospel to another group of 5 female youths who asked, "Why are you doing this for free?"
When you charge a token or collect an offering, you lose the rights to the purity of the message of the Gospel.
Jesus is always good!
